Lecture

For Project 1, we were tasked to design an Infographic Poster based on Pasta Grannies. We had to study the video, break down and chunk the preparation and cooking process into an Instructable Poster.

Assignment

Project 1:

I have chosen Ischia Neapolitan Style Margherita Pizza from Pasta Grannies.

Here are some of the inspirations I took off Pinterest. With these inspiration, I have gathered ideas on how to execute my poster design. This also inspired me to do the best of my abilities to create my poster design to have best possible outcome.

Sketches:

These are the sketches that I came up with after doing research for inspirations and design ideas for my poster.

Design Proccess:

Since the beginning of Project 1, I have thought of the background color to be yellow or orange. After thorough planning and experiment. I have found that orange background color fits better and it really brings out the poster and the contents.

I then proceed to roughly listing out the ingredients and how to cook the pizza for the contents/informations of the poster.

Each ingredients is illustrated using the pen tool and curve tool from scratch. Here are the ingredients for the pizza toppings.

The colors are based on real life ingredients so what I did was I used eyedropper tool to get the color from the image of the ingredients. This allow me to have a consistency and have a sense of realistic view of the ingredients.

For the Pizza, I have all the gathered all the ingredients and toppings that I have illustrated and carefully placed it and arrange according to the pizza.

The font I used for the text is ITC Avant Garde Gothic

This is the illustration for the Pan, Sauce & Spoon. As you can see it was made from scratch. I used the brush tool to make the sauce while the spoon and pan again using the pen tool.

I have added a gradient to the background using two different shades of orange. This help to make the poster even more visible and pops out.
