Week 6
The Spongebob theme needs to change. Choice of cartoon can better. Spongebob is outdated and Mr Shamsul advised that I should choose something from Netflix as the cartoons in Netflix are up to present times.
Week 7
Better choice than previous week. Packaging needs to have an interactional purpose. For example including a board game on one side of the packaging.
REFLECTION
Experience
My experience through out this Project 1 has been good. I enjoyed researching and designing the packaging for McDonald's Happy meal. Although, I had a rough start having to redo my research, planning and design as my spongebob design was not approved. This was a challenge but it was definitely worth it as it really put my skills and knowledge to the test.
Observation
During my research process, I observed many different packaging ideas that could help me in developing my creative mind. In this case, McDonalds happy meal is very popular all around the world. The design on the Happy Meal has been designed many times with many different cartoons. But this kid nowadays still buy it. This is due to the eye catching design of the packaging and the interaction they put out to kids.
Findings
I have found out that, a packaging that could engage with the buyer / viewer whether that would be through games on packaging, fun facts and cut outs can help interacting with the customers. Moreover, the importance of packaging and how it can influence the viewer to buy the product.
